The service
Visibility Score ("the Service") is a website scanning and reporting tool operated by Jeff Brook, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. The Service analyses publicly accessible websites and produces structural readiness scores and reports for AI visibility.
By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal data.
Who we are
Operator: Jeff Brook (trading as Visibility Score)
Email: [email protected]
Country of establishment: United Kingdom
Note: A correspondence address, VAT registration status, and ICO data protection registration reference will be added to this section shortly.
Free scan
The free scan is provided without charge and gives indicative structural readiness scores. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, but free scan results are not guaranteed. The free scan may be subject to availability and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
Where you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to services performed with reasonable care and skill.
Paid reports
When you purchase a report:
- Your report will be delivered to the email address you provide within 24 hours of successful payment.
- Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Prices are stated in GBP. Jeff Brook is not currently VAT registered; prices shown are the total price with no VAT to add.
- Each purchase covers one report for one URL at the time of purchase.
Your right to cancel — one-time reports
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2014, you have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of the date of your order without giving any reason (the "cooling-off period").
Digital content waiver: If you request that report delivery begins immediately — which is the default for this Service — you are asked at the point of purchase to consent to delivery starting within the cancellation period and to acknowledge that this forfeits your right to cancel once the report has been delivered. If you provide that consent at checkout, the 14-day cancellation right is lost once delivery begins. If you did not provide that consent, the 14-day right applies regardless of delivery.
To exercise the right to cancel before delivery begins, email [email protected] with your order reference. We will refund you within 14 days using the original payment method.
Monthly monitoring subscription
The £39/month monitoring plan is a rolling monthly subscription. The following terms apply:
- Billing: Your card is charged on the same day each month via Stripe. No minimum commitment period applies.
- Cancellation by you: You may cancel at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged for subsequent periods.
- Cooling-off period: You have the right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing without giving any reason. If you have not yet received any monthly rescan during this 14-day period, you are entitled to a full refund. If rescanning has begun within the 14-day period, we will refund a proportionate amount for any unused portion of the subscription period.
- Price changes: We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before increasing the subscription price. If you do not cancel before the increase takes effect, continued use constitutes acceptance of the new price.
- Cancellation by us: We may cancel your subscription by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email, with a pro-rata refund for any prepaid unused period. We may cancel immediately without refund in cases of fraud, abuse, or serious breach of these terms, after giving you reasonable opportunity to respond unless immediate action is necessary to protect the Service.
- Your data on cancellation: Historical scan results are retained for 12 months from the last scan date, consistent with our Privacy Policy, then deleted.
Refund policy
The following refund entitlements apply in addition to your statutory cancellation rights described above:
- If a paid one-time report is not delivered within 24 hours of purchase, you are entitled to a full refund. Email [email protected] with your order details.
- For subscription customers, refunds for unused periods in the event of operator-initiated cancellation will be calculated on a pro-rata daily basis.
These terms do not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
What the scores mean
Visibility Score measures structural readiness — whether your website is technically configured for AI systems to find, understand, and interact with it. The scores are structural assessments based on automated checks, not professional advisory opinions.
The scores do not guarantee that AI systems will cite, recommend, or interact with your website. AI visibility also depends on factors outside our measurement, including your reputation, content quality, and the behaviour of third-party AI systems which we do not control.
Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree to:
- Only scan websites you have permission to audit. You may scan your own website, your clients' websites with their consent, and publicly accessible competitor websites for benchmarking purposes.
- Respect rate limits. Automated or bulk scanning beyond reasonable use is prohibited. If you need high-volume scanning, contact us about the Agency plan.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the scanning methodology beyond what is published in our research articles.
- Not use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.
- Not submit malicious URLs designed to attack our infrastructure.
We reserve the right to suspend access to the Service for any user who seriously violates these terms, with at least 7 days' written notice where practicable. In cases of fraud, security incidents, or risk of harm to the Service or other users, suspension may take effect immediately. Subscription customers suspended for reasons other than their own breach will receive a pro-rata refund for any unused prepaid period.
Intellectual property
The scanning methodology, scoring algorithms, website content, and brand are the intellectual property of Jeff Brook / Visibility Score. Your reports are yours to use and share as you see fit, including sharing with clients and web developers.
Limitation of liability
Where you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 implies certain terms into your contract with us (including that the Service will be performed with reasonable care and skill and that digital content will be of satisfactory quality). These implied terms cannot be excluded and nothing in this section overrides them.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to a one-time report is limited to the amount you paid for that specific report. Our total liability for any claim related to the subscription is limited to the amount paid in the preceding three months.
- The scores and report recommendations are structural assessments, not professional advice. We are not liable for business decisions you make in reliance on them.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For free scan users, material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page; continued use of the Service after the updated date constitutes acceptance.
For active subscription customers, we will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not wish to accept the changes, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date and receive a pro-rata refund for any unused prepaid period.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about the Service, please email [email protected] with a description of the issue. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 business days.
If your complaint relates to how we handle your personal data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. For disputes arising in the UK, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the above jurisdiction clause does not affect any rights you have under the law of your country of residence to bring proceedings in your local courts, or to have the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country applied to your contract with us.
